Powers/Talents: A variety of Earth-based magic spells (attack, support, healing), the "ability" to switch gender (more on that later), and the random chance of throwing an exploding puppet.
Rally Cure is a wandering medium who collects and trades crystals, the kinds used for healing and fortune. However, a curse placed upon Rally at birth causes this character to randomly switch gender between male and female. Rally was abandoned as an infant (perhaps due to the curse) and subsequently raised by a traveling fortuneteller called Madame Cure, who passed her wisdom and lifestyle onto the child. As a result of this transfer of custody, Rally's "original" gender (whatever it was before the curse) is unknown. Madame Cure was a wise foster mother, teaching Rally to accept himself as both a boy and a girl. She realized Rally's potential as a medium and helped to develop the child's earth magic. Rally eventually became one of the companions of Kipling Reddenhurst, and followed his lead along with others in a journey across the lands. Rally found a place in the party, sharing his knowledge of magic and elemental crystals, while also becoming more comfortable about his unique circumstances. Prior to these adventures, Rally understandably had trouble telling people about the curse and maintaining friendships.
The amount of time he spends as a single gender can vary greatly. While Rally can typically spend a few days as one gender, there are occasions when he may undergo the change multiple times within a few hours. If the situation calls for it, though, and if Rally can muster up the strength required, he can sometimes force the switch at will. This was originally not possible for Rally, but with the aid of a cursed puppet he obtained while traveling, he was able to better understand his own curse.
Rally's fighting ability is limited, offensively. His earth magic allows rocks (or a crystal ball, Rally's signature weapon) to be lifted and thrown like telekinesis. Earth spells in Rally's canon are more suited to healing and protection. By using dust and earth he can create barriers, and by channeling energy he can heal wounds and ailments, or drain strength from an enemy. The exploding puppet mentioned earlier is a special tool assembled by Rally used for dire circumstances, and is probably Rally's most powerful weapon, acting as a small bomb when it hits its mark. It was inspired by the cursed puppet that sacrificed itself to help Rally gain more control over his own curse.
Rally tends to be shy around new people, but does his best to remain kind and respectful. He tends to only make friends with people who are open and talkative with him, becoming nervous around people who seem distant or cold. When he warms up to someone, however, he can become quite protective. In the past, Rally was extremely cautious about opening up to new people, but as time went on he developed more faith and confidence. He is still a generally timid person, though. He loves to spend time with friends, but is very capable of spending time alone. When there is nobody around to talk to, Rally can easily occupy himself with a book to read or a stone to polish.
